Personal Story of Cancer Survivors- Emma
There are endless success stories of Cancer but we choose to pick this today because of this inspiring 4 years old girl. The parents showed commendable strength and positivity throughout her diagnosis.
“Family is the ultimate strength,” I learned this after witnessing their journey.
Emma was diagnosed with Leukemia, a blood cancer, and bone marrow in 2020. She was undergoing traditional chemotherapy treatments before meeting with Dr. S. K. Gupta. As per the report’s study by Doctors, cancer came back twice. The prognosis was very poor and the chances of survival went down significantly.
While they were on the doctor’s tour in India, Hematology BMT was on their list.
Oncologist Dr. S. K. Gupta had a detailed consultation with the parents stating the current stage of cancer in Emma and the treatment process. According to the experience of Dr. S. K. Gupta, the case can be resolved but it has to be immediate.
Emma was admitted to the hospital for a post-bone marrow transplant procedure. All the tests were conducted and a donor was arranged by the hospital itself.
Chemotherapy got planned but not in the traditional ways. Dr. S. K. Gupta started preparing for the CAR T-Cell therapy for curing Emma’s leukemia.
As per the recent and past reports the oncologist at Hematology BMT gave preference to CAR-T.
It is a treatment that can bind cancer cells and kill them. The success rate of this process is high, therefore the whole team was very confident.
The chemotherapy for the next chemo started and the fear of the doctor was on his face. Emma started to puke and had side effects of Chemo. The side effects were not expected because she was having a lot of chemos before. The unplanned situation gave a sign of a hopeless situation to the team.
Dr. S. K. Gupta didn’t lose hope and had an optimistic response throughout. He allowed Emma to rest a bit and come for the CAR-T process after a week.
Next week approached and all the tests were conducted. More than their parents, the doctor was worried because this was his last shot.
All the reports were as per the expectations. Dr. S. K. Gupta prepared for the CAR-T process.
The process on Emma was conducted successfully. After 48 hours, she got to her senses and was all fit.
It is very normal to find her a bit weak because she is 4 years old and had such an extreme diagnosis.
After a few days, the team of Hematology BMT ran the cancer test. All the reports were Negative and we all got relieved. Dr. S. K. Gupta suggested parents wait for a month and run the tests again. The parents waited in India for the tests. All the tests were conducted in Hematology BMT. Everything went right on her account and she was successfully out of Cancer.
During the whole treatment, the entire team of Hematology BMT realized two things:
- There is always a way out, we just need to look harder.
- The strength comes from family and unity. The entire team worked for that one little girl and now she is living the life of her dreams.
Trust the process and above that trust your doctors. Hematology BMT’s famous Oncologist Dr. S. K. Gupta has such remarkable success stories. If you are having low hopes for Cancer, do not think twice before getting in touch with the best leukemia doctor in India- Dr. S. K. Gupta.
